I need a turn signal switch for my 39
I am looking to put turn signals on my 39 truck with a 16 inch steering wheel. I am asking for suggestions on what switch I should get. I want one that fits the old look of the truck. I have looked at them online but its not the same as seeing them with the steering wheel to see how far the stem sticks out. It would be nice go get one that also worked the headlight dimmer. I am sort of leaning toward the napa LIT900
Pictures of the switch setup in the vehicle would be appreciated Thanks

Re: I need a turn signal switch for my 39
I chose to buy the Turn Switch option. With this you don't need a big ugly unit clamped onto your steering column, any on-off-on momentary switch will do. I had a friend with one installed in a 37 with a small panel attached to the bottom of the dash with a three position momentary switch installed so it moved left-right and always returned to center. That panel was much less noticeable than a clamp on unit and worked very well. Disclaimer, I have yet to install mine.

Thanks for those pictures. That unit I was thinking of using.

Back 20 years when I was driving my 41 ford around I got pulled over so many times for not using my turn signals I ended up selling it.

Get a "Yankee 960".
You may have to troll ebay for a bit but they come up pretty often. They look way better than most aftermarket switches |

The round drum switch I got for my model A
The Art Deco one I found for my 36, one of that style would look good in a 39 too. If you want some headlight control you will have to find modern switch and make a housing for it to fit your car — |

Re: I need a turn signal switch for my 39
That's exactly why I installed turn signals in my current car. 30 years ago when I had my first v8 people still understood hand signals. This time around the knowledge has been lost on the average driver........they either don't understand or think you are being rude to them.

This is by far the best turn signal system I've seen. No need to modify or add lights to your old car...it works on existing park and tail lights whether one filament or two. Works on all voltages and pos/neg grounds, self cancels and functions perfectly. Had mine for nearly four years now and wouldn't trade it for anything else. Terry
