Default My Fuel Tank is Turning My Fuel Pink!

Hey guys, I've got quite the quandary. I had the fuel tank for my 1959 Edsel Ranger relined a few years back. Its been empty for most of the time I've had it since the car itself if under restoration.

I put some fuel through it the other day and this is what came out the other end.

Has this ever happened to anyone before? Should I have the radiator shop do my tank over again? Help.

If you can I would try to get a hold of the place that relined it and ask them if they have had issues with their liner mix. From the pics it looks like either bad gas or liner in the tank has broken down.

I had a similar problem with one of my Model A's. The tank had been sealed, but was leaking around the steering bracket. I thought the color change to the gas was coming from the cork gas gauge float, but I guess it could have come from the sealant as well.

I guess I'll take it back into the radiator shop and have them look at it. This is the second time this will be happening...to the same fuel tank! The first time they told m they didn't find anything wrong with it. Maybe its because I use 91 octane and they tested it with 87?...(If they tested it at all)

Don't know about the sealer, but it looks like the real leaded gas before 1975!

Well I took it in and he is going to reline it for me at no extra cost. We'll see how this turns out.

Update: Got a call yesterday and the guy says he is having difficulties lining the tank. We'll see where this leads us. He said he's gonna look and see if he can find a replacement tank and if that doesn't work, try again with the one I brought in.
