Re: A Tribute to Paul Garagan, Rumble seat.
Sorry to hear the news. Looking at his photos you wouldn't pick him as heart attack material. He is a true "legend" going back to the days when I joined the Barn when Shelly "ruled the roost". Someone I looked up to for his knowledge. If you could pick "12 apostles of Fordbarn", he would be one of them.
RIP Rumble Seat GB

Re: A Tribute to Paul Garagan, Rumble seat.
The previous owner of Fordbarn (Shelly VanPelt) had several years of archived posts that she would keep on the website and this could be accessed at any time. She also had CD's available for many of the years previous to the archived files that were available for purchase. All of that information could be resurrected and made available in some type of internet website file, BUT the question is how would it be done and who would do it? Send a message to Ryan Cochran, the present owner, maybe he can help.

Re: A Tribute to Paul Garagan, Rumble seat.
I would hope that someone here who is in contact with the family would share the several threads/many posts about Paul. The many stories/anecdotes are a lasting tribute to a man who had such a positive impact on so many. RIP

I spoke to Pauline and Jan at the funeral on Friday and they are going to be going over Paul's email account so if you don't get response it is in the works. There are a lot of things to attend to. She said she expects to get to it after the first of the year. There were about 200 at the funeral on Friday. Very nice ceremony! A number of cars out front too! |

Re: A Tribute to Paul Garagan, Rumble seat.
Here's a picture of the wrench Paul returned to me after he replaced the wheel cyl we fixed in my shop in Vermont. Couldn't get it off the Hydrolic line, so we cut it off with a torch because it interfered with the wheel. He sent it back to me, but I can't find it. So Shelly sent this to me.

On the same subject: One day we were working in Paul's garage as we often did. Around lunch time Paul said time for lunch ... I want to show you something. We stopped at a light 15 minutes later. He asked "See the Chubbies Mexican Resturant sign and the Grease Monkey sign? OK hang on a minute ... we went around the block and back to the same intersection only this time he stopped in the far left lane instead of far right lane. Now what do you see? Chubbies Mexican Resturant- Burritto special this week! Right below appeared the bottom half of the Grease Monkey sign: "Free emmissions check" Paul loved that! I have a picture of it somewhere but it was before digital and I have not had time to go through piles of photos and or negatives to find it. |

The world lost a good man and a real " flathead driver". His words of wisdom on flatheads lives on as does the stories of his travels. Safe journey Paul you will be missed.....LouB.

I never got the chance to meet Paul, but I enjoyed his posts very much. He will be missed by all who knew him, and those who didn't. Rest in Peace Paul.
