272 4 barrel intake manifold
City:
New Cumberland
State:
Pa
I am restoring a 1957 F100 pickup. I would like to replace the stock 2 barrel intake with a 4 barrel intake manifold. This manifold must be in good condition. No cracks or stripped out bold holes please.

Re: 272 4 barrel intake manifold
I have a question for you. What style 4V intake are you looking for? I don't think any 272's came with a 4V. All Y-block 4V for 55 and 56 were the square (teapot) style Holley carb. The 57 cars with 292 and 312 came with the modern style wide base intake that conventional Holleys and Autolites (later) fit. The 57 model 272 would not have come with 4V. Nor would have F-100 trucks. However, they will all interchange. Just different linkages. Is is a correct guess that the 57 and up type intake is what you want? Thanks

Re: 272 4 barrel intake manifold
Early ones that take the small-base (like teapot carbs) is casting # ECZ-A, the later, wide base ones are ECZ-B <-that's probably what you're looking for?
If no other FBers have one, you might find one on ebay, they come up quite frequently over there. Ron |
