Default gas tanks

Does anyone know if it is possible to fit a 37-39 gas tank into a 35 [with the body attached?

It will probably fit, but the angle of the fill neck will be a problem.

I put a used (price was right) aftermarket '37-'39 tank in my '35. It has a clamp on instead of the original screw in style filler. I used an aftermarket '35-'36 filler tube and had to alter it to suit the angle of the stub on the tank.
