Default Belleville washer direction

I rebuilt this 8BA over the winter and getting close to being able to mount on the newly painted frame of an F1. But before I do, do I have my fan Belleville washer backwards? The outer curved surface faces the block now but I think that might be wrong.

From one of many items when I googled "How to install Belleville springs" - Google is your friend !

"Mount the washer so its cup points toward the connection (away from the bolt head or nut). Mounting it upside down (reversed), adds little clamping force to the connection. The number of reversed Belleville washers in existing installations is staggering, so it is an important consideration."

Here's the rest of the story with a pictorial. Concave surface of washer faces towards the
surface of the item you are clamping.

Exactly right. Convex side of belleville to underside of bolt head, concave side towards item being held in place.

What torque should I tighten the crank bolt to, the manual is vague on that?

Here's the torque for 8BA crankshaft pulley. 45-55 ft.lbs.
