car club driving games with the A
Does anyone have an idea where I might find some ideas for having driving games with our Model A's ? I'm thinking our local Model A club would enjoy a day out to take part in some out door car games. I need some ideas as to what we can do for games. What ideas do you have ??

One of my favourites is pulling out of a parking space, then a y-turn and backing back into the space.
Of course, you're blindfolded with your passenger giving you directions. Lots of yelling! Leading cause of divorce. Left! Left! NO! Your other LEFT!

Just be careful you don't get into anything involving speed or you insurance might not be valid. For that mater, you might ask your agent about any games you intend to have.

Another is to have a short board sitting on something round, like a see-saw. The idea in this one is to drive onto the board and stop with the board as close as possible to horizontal with no help from anybody else. Then there's the slow "race" where the last car to finish, wins. The driver walks beside the car and is not allowed to touch any control other than the steering wheel, then there's a plumb-bob hanging from the bumper (front or back) and the driver stops with it over a target on the ground, then there's parallel parking and then you can set up some markers "at random" and drag a brick on a rope behind the car. The car weaves, trying to drag the brick between the markers..... OH heck, there are lots of driver skill tests which don't require timing, which as has been said, might invalidate any public liability insurance. Lotsa fun!

Thats exactly the stuff I'm looking for and just for info, the games would be played on private property, no public roadways are to be used in these games. keep the ideas coming folks |

Bumper tag. We used to play that game in the early 60's

Idle--Turn the gas off and see which car can idle the longest before it dies.

Re: car club driving games with the A
Requires 2 people.
2 heads bolted to benches on either side of a driveway. Car drives up to a line and stops. Shut engine off. Set hand brake. Both people jump out and go to benches. Pull all 4 plugs out and lay on bench. Each person then runs to the opposite bench. Screw the plugs in the head and torque to what the torque wrench is set at. People run to car and proceed to finish line 10 feet away. |

This is from a post a couple of years ago;
"Take a look at the MAFCA website where there is a book of car games available for download. You need to be very careful in selecting games as many of them used in the past will violate insurance coverage. The MAFCA book includes only the "safer" games." Car game thread
