SteveB31, did you zero the ohm meter before you took the readings?

All my original coils measure about 1.5 ohms.

I have taken apart, several 12 volt coils. No resistor, but finer primary windings. Could the heat problem be that a 4 cylinder engine may have longer dwell, thus more coil temperature
