Default These vacuum wipers!

The wipers on my truck are disconnected. The pipe sits right next to the fitting on the manifold but the fitting has a primitive bung fitted. If I connect the pipe the wipers do not work.
The pipe goes into the cab then splits and goes to each wiper motor. Haven't had those motors out yet but peering up under there they look to be in good order. How do they work and how do I fix em?
Wiper arms and blades are missing, presumably they are available?

Pull the pipe at the wipers, run the engine, are you getting suction at the wiper pipe ends? Pull one at a time, reconnect then pull the other one. The rubber piping can perish and split and leak.
Pull the wiper motors, check the switch works, you should be able to rotate the wiper shaft (switch in the on position) back and forth fairly, if not lubricate them till they do. If lube doesn't free them up, open them up and see what's stopping the movement. Quite a simple thing inside, just go slow and carefull.
Let us know what you find.
Martin.

Took both motors out. Quite badly gummed up, cleaned them out and reassembled. One side works a treat but the little piece which the tiny spring attaches to is broken in the other. It also puffs and wheezes!! I suspect an air leak in the casing, probably the gasket?
They available over here Martin? Need the arms and blades too
