Default tips for removing dash on 36

Well as you can see in the picture the old Ford is making progress in the paint project. I have made the decision to change my gold accents to a light beige color with the deep blue body color. I painted the dash gold and black to match the wheels but now it should be the beige color. He is wanting to take the dash out so he can do a proper job. Can't imagine its too tough but any help and suggestions are much appreciated!

First of all, a disclaimer: I removed my dash about two years ago and am giving you instructions from memory.........and I'm old.

You will have to remove the steering column to dash bracket. You'll also have to remove the wiring for the gauges, switches, etc behind the dash. As I recall, there's also one or two struts supporting the dash to the firewall.

Once everything is disconnected, there are (6) slot head screws (1/4-20, as I recall) holding the top of the dash that can be accessed by cranking the windshield open and removing the (6) screws from the front, through the windshield opening. There are also (2) screws, one each at the lower right & left sides of the front of the dash that must be removed. Once you have the screws removed, lift the dash straight up until it clears the front lip and then remove the dash.

Hope this helps. If I've missed something, I'm sure someone will correct me.
-Bob
