Default Original radiator drain valve

How do you restore the radiator drain valve. Mine is not too bad, but is leaking about a drop every second minute. It seems mainly to leak where the handle axle exits the valve body.

Are there special tapered reamers that will help me refurbish the valve or is there any other technique or procedure recommended ?

I have not done one, but I undertand they are simiiliar to the gas shup off valve. So dissamble and use a grining/polishing grit to remate the surfaces.
