Identify rear spring help
I’m sure this is an easy one, just don’t know myself.
Is this a 25 and earlier spring, or 26-27? 8 leaves. Thanks |

It seems Ford started using more different springs for the various different models so a lot depends on what model or body type it came from. So from what I read, the rear spring is the same from 22-27. Same shape anyway. Possibly with a different amount of springs varying from 6-9. Do you read that link you posted the same as I do? This isn’t for a stock T. I want to purchase a reversed eye main leaf. Trying to make sure the shape is correct, but there’s two options on the T-spring website 09-25 and 26-27. I’ll call them prior to order, but figure sometimes pictures posting a picture is the easiest way to figure out what you have. |

The late body types that Ford came up with for 1926/27 were lower to the ground due to the new wheels and likely the lower crown on the springs on some body types. I'd figure this was for lighter bodies that weren't going to be carrying large loads. Pickup and Sedan body types may have had a higher crown profile to carry larger loads but I don't know for sure.
After so many years, I'm sure there was mixing and matching to keep the old Ts rolling down the road. As far as fit, I'm sure most Ts built after WWI could interchange springs. It boils down to authenticity when restoring the old flivers. For a speedster, a person would want the lowest springs available. |

The rear springs are all the same shape. It was the rear crossmember it mounts to on the 26/27 that got changed to lower the car, not the spring. The only thing that changed over the years was how the spring leaves were formed/made and number of leaves.
The Model A was a different story, they used a number of different profiles.
