Default Wiring diagram for directionals

Is there a wiring diagram for a 1941 super deluxe showing exactly the wiring for tail, directionals, and stop lights? Every book I have only shows tail and stop. I'm having a problem understanding the whole set up. Not a good electrical person. I get intimated when it comes to testing and the like . Appreciate any help thank you, . John

1941 Fords did not have directional (turn signals) they were an add-on. Does your car currently have turn signals? Is it the clamp-on type on the column? If not, are you wanting to add turn signals?

Already on car when purchased. Found stop light switch was bad ,had to replace. Both stop lights work good and bright, the directionals, right one gives a feint light left is bright. Ground is good because the stop lights are bright I believe, so I'm thinking the directional switch on the steering wheel might be the problem?? John

Most likely a poor connection somewhere. Any idea what brand the turn signal is? There are wiring diagrams for some off them.

Aftermarket turn signals come in two styles, 5 wire and 7 wire. Do some searching on the internet under turn signal diagrams. Should lead you in right direction. Remember stop lights switch to turn signal when switch is activated. Neutral position 2 stop lights, R. turn- left stop light operates, right stop light changes to flash and visa-versa. Replace flasher for a quick check (note-2 & 3 prong flashers available). I'd start with a new flasher unit

Sounds like wiring is okay because the directions light the correct side of the car. But since the right directional light illumination is faint, could be incorrect bulb filament is lighting - indicating the wires at that bulb socket are reversed ?????

Good point! On the flasher, the same flasher works for both brake lights, so it shouldn't make any difference which brake light it is flashing. I would check the wiring of the right light first and see if it is wired up correctly.

How about the front lights? Do both work? Is the right front also faint? A bad ground at the front can cause a problem at the back as it passes through the switch.
