Arrow Assembling 46 flathead starter question

Assembling 46 starter and unable to get brushes on the armature. What’s the scoop to hold the brushes and slide on to the armature.

This will help. Plus, do a search "How To Install Starter brushes"

I typically use "nails" or other rods to stick underneath the brush wires - holding the brushes up to make the installation easier. Also, sometimes one can just manually use a screwdriver and move one brush at a time to get it past the armature - without any sort of "hold back" mechanism.
