The Rear Brake Camshaft Lever...
OK...I have to be crosseyed because I can not tell the difference between the Right and Left Camshaft Lever, A-2235 and A-2236.
I have a few and they all look the same to me...maybe they are I do not know. The only markings on them is a "L" on some and "nothing" on the others. I take it that the "L" stands for the LEFT lever and the ones that have no markings are for the RIGHT side. Anybody? Thanks. Pluck |

Steve, look very carefully at the end the brake rod goes on and you can see a very slight angle to correspond with the angle of the rod. I just went through this recently and I had to look at one on another chassis to see the angle. I hope this helps.

Yeah, if you put them on backwards and try to hook up the rods, it becomes evident real quick.

Steve, these are from a 30-31 but I think the markings and angles would be the same if you lay them out on a table. See if these photos are any help.

Re: The Rear Brake Camshaft Lever...
Yes there are left and right levers but are typically not marked. I previously misstated.
Emergency levers are typically marked. I’ve done a gazillion of these but sometimes you have a brain fart! Larry Shepard Last edited by larrys40; 02-04-2019 at 02:16 PM. |

Re: The Rear Brake Camshaft Lever...
Vince Falter has done a study on this with his access to the Benson archives at the Henry Ford in Dearborn. Check out his Ford Garage at http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/rear...haftlevers.htm
Too bad he's not allowed on the fordbarn especially with his extensive knowledge of Model A's. |
