Door problem
I have a 1950 ford truck, the passenger door will only open from the inside, if you try the outside handle it just drops down and stays. I took the outside handle off and it looks fine no real wear marks or anything, I looked in the hole and it looks fine there too any ideas?
Also I should mention if you open the door and watch the latch it does try to move when the outside handle is pulled |

Re: Door problem
look at the shaft on the handle is it square or has it rounded off?. If it has and the latch itself is worn then that is your problem

Re: Door problem
Remove the latch assy. to inspect it, odds are you are not going to see whats wrong by looking from the outside.

Good advice, what I noticed was that the little lever that opens the lock was slipping behind, bent it back and lubed everything. Everything working fine now. LUBE is key to keeping the hinges working free which rust is most likely the culprit, Thanks everyone for your help |
