Default 1936 5 Window firewall tags

Does anyone know if the 5 window should have the Body Tag on the firewall?

I have heard that only the convertible models actually had the Body Tag on the firewall.

Most 5 windows were made by Murray Corp and should have a body tag. Your photo shows a correct tag but it should also have an additional number reflecting the body's sequence number.

Thanks, is there anyway to figure out what my body sequence number should be? I know mine is a December 35 car from the research I have done, 18-24278I4. Yes, there is an I in it. The first digit should probably be an I as well but it took me 4 months to get what I was able to find on the left side of the chassis. Anyway, anyone else have a December 35 car, and what is your body sequence number? That would give me some idea of what I am looking for.

Steve, We can only approx the body number based on the total number of 5-window coupes made in the 1936 model year. Since there were about 108472 5-window coupes made and you have a December car, your body number should be in the 18,000 to 21,000 range.

Hope this helps a little.

Thanks, I would appreciate hearing from other '36 5WCP owners with early cars that have a chassis number near mine, 18-24278I4 to know what their actual body number is.

I have a 1937 five window coupe that was built in very early February, 1937.
The body number tag number on my car is 770 2292.

Don, thanks for the help at the Benson Ford Research Library last Friday.
