water pump
Is any one running the v/8 pump on their Model A? Would like to know the benifits. I have a core Model a pump and will have to be purchasing one or the other.

Re: water pump
The main problem is where to mount the fan.

Re: water pump
Stick with the original equipment IMHO, Simple to maintain, and will last as long as the car. Unless you are the drylake type of driver. Bob

Re: water pump
If you run a SS shaft and impeller on an original A pump, with a cast aluminium fan, you'll be virtually trouble free.

Re: water pump
Rex Reheis made some of the best leakless style model A water pumps ever. He used the V8 (35-36) impeller with a carbon seal. Rex stood behind his water pumps as long as he lived. I'f any of these pumps are still available, it would be your best bet. When using a V8 pump with an adapter on a model A head, there is a problem of not enough clearance for a fan. Also, the V8 pumps don't have provisions to attach a fan to the pulley.
