Me too. And, it also has a slightly higher boiling point.

I'm seeing both synthetic and non-synthetic Dot4 fluid on the shelf. I've been told that mixing synthetic and non-synthetic fluids will cause corrosion in the system. Who has the facts on this?

I have been using the new dot 3-4 seems to work well for me. I found dot 5 difficult to get from leaking.

I've seen corrosion in Dot 5 systems too. It's likely due to long term inactivity. Dot 5 is compressible too so the pedal can feel a bit spongy even if all the air is purged from the system. I've noticed the Dot 5 changes color over time. I'm not sure why this is but it turns yellow in my experience.

Dot 3 absorbs moisture but this moisture is a lot less of a problem when the vehicle is used regularly so corrosion is a given in long inactive systems just like Dot 5 or any other fluid.

I recommend that folks use there vehicles or keep them in a temperature controlled environment. The more they are exercised, the better things will function. I'd love to have an air conditioned garage but I don't see that happening any time soon.
