Camber wrong on 35
Hi all, just completing a hydraulic brake conversion test my 35. Took it up & down the driveway & all worked fine, backed into garage & when looking at front end tires r in @ the bottom out @ the top? Camber is wrong. Is there an adjustment for camber on a 35?
Part of the job was putting 40+ spindles & new king pins to accept bendix style Lincoln brakes on the front. All went together fine. Help.

Re: Camber wrong on 35
Camber should be in at the bottom and out at the top. The only time you see this drastically different is on our road-race cars.
Also, camber on a beam axle is "adjusted" by bending the axle - to change the angle of the king pins. Unless your car has been in an accident and/or somebody put in an incorrectly built dropped axle, it is very doubtful that the camber is drastically wrong. There is no easy "adjustment" method. Normally a suspension like this has from 1/4 - 1 degree of positive camber (in at bottom, out at top). Last edited by Bored&Stroked; 05-27-2023 at 02:55 PM. |

Re: Camber wrong on 35
As B&S points out, the camber must be adjusted by bending the axle. Some truck alignment shops have the capability of doing this type of job but they might be hard to find in your area.

Re: Camber wrong on 35
Did you get those spindles with the brakes? If your brakes are original Lincoln you may have been sold Lincoln spindles, IIRC the king pin inclination is only 4* on those.
