Any chance some DMV used your body number by mistake? Can you find the number on the car (and where?)? VIN's (actually serial numbers when the Model A was built) should match the engine number. If you changed the engine you notified DMV and they updated the paperwork. DMV just forgot about the number on the frame under the body. This is the way they did it in most states in the US. Canada???

The body number stamped on the frame I thought matched engine number.
In any case I do not know stamped frame number and will never Know since body must be lifted to find (I think) Fredski |

You are correct. When the car was new the engine/frame number was the number used on the title. Jump ahead 80+ years, anything could have happened.

Re: Vin # 1352. Is this correct
fredski,
The Engine number is stamped onto the frame, however if your car is a 1930 Canadian Manufactured car it will likely not have the number on the frame, as this was discontinued. The Body number is a different story and if it exists it will be on the left side near the seat riser or door. My 1930 Canadian Standard Phaeton has body 6F1903, your number sounds more like a body number than an engine number. Although, by 1930 Canadian engine numbers were CA plus another letter and numbers from 1 through 10,000. So it is possible your number is the last four digits from the engine. Darryl in Fairbanks |

If your car is Canadian then there is no number stamped on the frame so your engine number is the Vin. Here's a list of Canadian VIN# and production dates.

I know longer have original engine which had engine numbers
That was for the year of the car and think it was the original to it I wanted a inserted main and rod engine and traded mine in As a exchange. Not a counter balanced motor. Fredski. I like my vin #. Easy to remember. |
