I'm not that far west. I'm near Hickory, Lenoir, and Morganton, about 12 miles from I-40 at exit #113. I believe Murphy is in the extreme western end of NC, very near TN and N. GA, correct?

If north of 40, Hudson? I used to date a girl that lived there while she went to CCC. Drive (or haul) that thing up to sparta and we will redo your gauge no problem. I have the tools and the shop. Seriously order the rebuild kit, at Lenior make a right on 18 all the way up to Sparta. The road is crooked enough to have fun especially after you go through North Wilkesboro and not have a train behind you.

Here's the kit I used that has the cork impregnated with neoprene gasket, at the bottom of the page in the link. https://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/P...el-a/gas-gauge

Yes, Hudson, the Cajah's Mtn section, near Tri County Speedway. Not far from Caldwell Community College. I might order a rebuild kit and take a ride to Sparta sometime to take you up on your generous offer. There is going to be a swap meet/car show this weekend(Friday and Saturday) here at the Caldwell Co Fairgrounds. You might want to come over and check it out. I plan to be there with our coupe on Friday.

If I can talk (her) into it, I may try and make it down there. I always liked that area and it'd be fun to go to a swap meet as I've never been to one.

The offer is standing for the gauge repair anytime.

If you make it on Friday or later on Saturday (maybe) look me up. I should be around my car from time to time. I walk with a cane and have a big moustache.

Oh good grief! If you bought a Model A, you have pretty much bought yourself a career of "projects".
