what would you recommend for a 4 banger tuning I can drive on the highway about 70 Milen (without great risk for the engine)

I'd start with a TCI chassis

and use a crate small block chevy engine, tranny, and rear end. You'll also need a modern steering column with an air bag.

you have a stock car and engine? if so 70 miles per hour is unsafe, if you insist on doing that you will need a high speed rear axle ratio 3:54? i think thats right and a mitchel over drive, xlnt balanced tires,and suspenion, and big balls

I totally agree that 70 mph is unsafe. Even if the engine allows it the rest of the car is 85 years old. You are putting your life and the lives of others at risk! Wayne

Looks like BOTH sides of the guesses here were right, i.e.- 70miles at 70mph !
Robert, At 70mph a LOT of RPMs are going on in that engine. If stock (splash) oil system, be aware/careful to not 'overwhelm' that system.

How are you doing , my friend !
You are not asking too much of a four cylinder Ford A or B engine ('banger') to drive it 70 miles at a time. But, it should be in very good condition to do that job regularly. How fast are you thinking of driving your engine on the highway ? And, it is a FREEWAY type road or a back country road ?

A lot more details need to be known, at least for me to help you. AND, maybe a lot of $$$$ to go fast, if that is what you want

Not sure what the metric conversion comes out to but I think they do not use miles but kilometers

damn, now i dont really know if he meant 70 miles per hour or just 70 miles on a trip,any way 70 kilomters is 42 mph, to convert kilometers to mph, drop the last number and multiply by 6 so 70 k with the Zero dropped and the 7 muliplied by 6 equals 42

Here is why, he uses the term "banger" I don't think a translator would translate any thing to do with a car as a banger. A 4 banger usually refers to a modified for speed 4 cylinder engine.

Next he says "so i can drive on the highway".

He goes on the say "exact description of parts".

With my interpretation, I think he wants to get his engine to go at least 70 MPH.

Good rule of thumb for a rough conversion but does not work for 45 or any number not ending in zero, a better way is to divide by eight and then multiply by five. (A kilometer is five eighths of a mile.) Use the calculator on your smart phone if mathematically challenged.

I am looking at the same issue and have decided that the engine speed must be no more than 2,200rpm. that is 32mph/1000rpm. Our car is lighter than a Model A so there is enough power with a 6:1 compression ratio head.

The suspension and the brakes on our car are capable of that speed, you may need to look at your shock absorbers and brakes

Even simpler conversion, multiply by .60 or 60 %. Wayne
