why are all my pictures turned sideways

wondering why most all of my pictures that I post turn out sideways??
when I upload them and preview my post before sending they are how they should be, once they post, they are sideways??? Can I edit these after the fact?

I read somewhere that IF YOU ARE USING AN IPHONE to hold the phone with the volume buttons up. So far it has worked for me.

I was using an I phone to take the pics. I will try that and see if it makes a difference.

On mine ist works with volume buttons down. For some reason Iphone has a tag for "up" on the photo. No matter what you do to flip it in another program it seem to override the orientation.

Sort of like my GPS. Maybe it can be changed ?
