Default French flat in a 32

Hello.

I’m working on the cooling system of my 1932 french flat powered and I have some questions.

Only the left side french head accept a temp sending unit, and I don’t want to remove the other one for drilling it. Using only one water gauge is risked.

The aluminium water outlets on the heads don’t have thermostat inside. Originally, both 2.28 diameter necks are drilled and threaded for a temp switch. The thermostat is located above. I’d like to replace those switches by temperature sending units.

I’d like to fit smaller necks to match with radiator inlets but with the same principe. But I don’t find something like this.

Also, there is 3 options for the rad.
Stock, not pressurized, top angled connections
Alu repo from Speedway, pressurized, stock diameter connections, top are straight
Chinese (ugly) alu repo, pressurized, 1 1/2 top connection.

Any help will be appreciated.

Second pic. Found on internet. This is exactly what I need

Thanks Sheldon.

I know these neckes, but they don’t have a hole for the temp sensor.
What did you do on the right side ?

No hole for temp gauge .You have to retap the hole in the head to 3/8 NPT is your only option. The hole in the FRench flathed head is a Metric size. We tried and NPT will not fit.Your other option is to replace yout heads with USA Mercury heads.
