Hempy- Cooper pouring jigs have been used successfully for years. They made pouring jigs for the "T", "A", "B", and "V-8s". Also made were pouring jigs for all the other babbitted rods that autos had. Will post some photos at a later date. Ammco ( Automotive Machinery Company) purchased Hempy-Cooper in the mid 1930's I believe and still marketed all their products. Very sought after jigs on the internet.

It seems as though it could be a nice way to pour then get the fixture off quickly and pein, interesting design.
