1934 pickup seat advice please
My 34 pickup build cab was a truck. When I eliminate the seat tank and go to the regular frame tank for a pickup, I lose about 5-6 inches in height of my seat. I do not want to have to elevate a seat with a frame and runners and have it look like a school bus seat
Has anyone tried a 34-40 Ford coupe seat and frame in one of these cabs ? I think the frame and stock cushion would be the right height but will it fit width wise ? I don't have a seat to measure so I would appreciate dimensions. I have my original cushions but there is nothing to sit them on, also they are just loose cushions with a separate back. Appreciate any advice or help. Larry

Re: 1934 pickup seat advice please
I would think a car seat closest in year to your 34 cab would be the closest fit. I doubt a 40 coupe seat would fit without modification - they are about 48" wide at least at the back - and they have some side wood/upholstery area that would look funny in a 34.
I think I would try and emulate the height by using a stock looking under seat surround like a 40 pickup has to raise you up, modified to be 34 style, and then use your stock seat. If not your stock seat, you can use one of the minivan seats, cut down and upholstered to look like a 34 - I did that in my avatar and if you get the right one, they even fold down, a nice feature. I don't think either way would give you a school bus look .... |

Whatever you do,make sure the seatback is potato chip thin as it will give you a little more comfort not much room in these cabs

Keep the stock tank for a seat riser. I have cut out large openings in front and sides of that tank which makes great storage space. Split heater hose around perimeter prevents getting sliced on sharp sdges.
