backing plate bolts too long?
Plan to use washers at the heads of backing plate bolts to take up length of bolts so castle nuts and bolt holes line up properly. Good idea?

Re: backing plate bolts too long?
We discussed this a year ago these two links will answer your question.
What it amounts to is that there are two versions of the grease seal and you must use the correct bolts and nuts for each type. Be sure to read carefully and follow the links on these two pages. A number of folks have some good info here ... https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=241062 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...=backing+plate Berts (www.modelacenter.com) has the new baffles and bolts and washers in Repro. So you can be sure you get correct parts ... Last edited by Benson; 04-15-2019 at 11:43 PM. |

Re: backing plate bolts too long?
Thank you, to all. Ordered new backing plates. If they arrive w/ the raised collars that will work. If not I will use washers @ the bolt heads.
