1932 Model A Production
We are all aware that Ford continued to make Model As into 1932. All the production charts I have seen only list up till 1931. Does anyone have production records for 1932?
I am particularly interested in Ford of Canada, which continued A production supposedly until July 1932.

Re: 1932 Model A Production
The late 31' tudor we presently have has engine number 4829xxx which was supposedly manufactured in November 1931. The entire month of December 1931 shows as blank with the USA domestic River Rouge Model A engine production number series picking up again at #4840901 in January 1932.
The question is . . . How long of a lag time was there between engine manufacture and match up installation into a newly produced car? So then, could the car that we own have actually rolled off the assembly line sometime during early 1932? Last edited by Capt Quahog; 06-02-2016 at 01:47 AM. |

Re: 1932 Model A Production
Yes, the Ford Motor Company stopped making the Model A in April of 1932.
But don't forget that the production of the Ford Model A continued until at least 1936 and I believe into WW2 production, in the Soviet Union (USSR), aka Russia - Very few passenger cars after 1936, but LOTS of AA Trucks. While this was most definitely NOT a Ford Motor Company production, it did never-the-less produce the Model A, as designed by and from molds and presses from the Ford Motor Company. I am not talking GAZ here, but vehicles easily identified as a Ford Model A. |
