1940 Ford pickup mostly completed project PRICE REDUCED
City:
Smithfield
State:
VA
Price:
$10,000
I finally got enough of the pickup together to give you a better idea of what I have to offer. I still left out the bed sides and front panel and the tailgate. The tailgate is painted in a similar fashion and I’ll make a pic of that later. The bedsides are solid but have not been painted nor has the front bed panel. The truck lacks the cross rails to put the bed together but new ones are available or you can make some from old bed rails from an old house bed.
The pickup has a 302 Ford engine and a rebuilt C4 trans. It has a dropped axle on split wishbones using a Chassis Engineering kit. The rear parallel spring kit is a TCI or Posie kit; I think. I installed the brake bracket and pedal and new master cylinder and completed the brakes and bled them. The previous owner had already rebuilt the frontend and the brakes all around. The steering is hooked up as well but needs some additional welding before it will be ready to use. I haven’t hooked up a gas pedal yet. I also installed the gas tank and ran the gas line to the engine and a new fuel pump. The cab is complete and mounted firmly on the chassis. The cab, including the doors, has new glass and rubber and window channels. The old truck is quite solid but it ain’t particularly pretty... they were going for the patina look. 8/20/14 Price reduced to $10,000 for the whole works, including a radiator that came with the truck. Call Al at 757-334-5618 or email [email protected] for more info/pictures. Attached Files:

Re: 1940 Ford pickup mostly completed project
Getting inquires but no offers yet. The truck comes with the headlights and hood ornament and other stuff to help complete the truck. The best part is the chassis is done and the cab has had the glass and rubber and tracks replaced. The brakes are done as well and the gas line is run, too; including an electric pump to prime it and serve as backup should the new manual pump ever fail.

The bedsides look to be blasted and painted, too. Also here's the tailgate. The front panel for the bed seems to have been blasted and the rust chemically treated. Note that it has the correct tailgate for a 1940. Thanks for looking.
