1957 Ford E code 2X4 question
On a 1957 Ford E code 2X4 setup, what are the correct carburetor numbers to look for, and where are they located?
Thanks in advance for any and all responses. |

Re: 1957 Ford E code 2X4 question
The correct numbers are ECJ-9510-AA (Holley # LIST 1437) and ECJ-9510-AB (Holley # LIST 1434). On cars with auto transmissions, the LIST 1437 carb goes in front (with a dashpot/only difference), and the LIST 1434 carb goes in the rear (no dashpot).
On cars with a manual transmission, two LIST 1434 carbs are used. Note, on T-Birds the carbs were mounted backwards with thinner spacers between them and the manifold for hood clearance. Passenger cars used 1/2" phenolic spacers. Sal |

Re: 1957 Ford E code 2X4 question
Also, the numbers are stamped on the back of the base of the carbs (backside of the mounting flange).
