Re: V-8 Fords on Film
I remember seeing this film about 20 years ago.
1956 film starring a young Benny Hill called "Who done it". Most of the street scenes feature his girlfriend's 32 3W. I didn't recognise the model at first because of the subtle changes that partially disguise it. Here's a still: And here's a link to a short clip on youtube (that I got the screenshot from) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_6oy...eature=related Sorry to say but I remember the car getting trashed when it "accidentally" runs onto a stock car track in the big chase scene at the end. Stock car racing (not the US style) was the latest big thing in the UK in the mid fifties. Mart. |

Re: V-8 Fords on Film
Thanks Mart. Wonder what happened to that car.
I recently watched the history documentary The Real Bonnie and Clyde (2009). It is a Ford Fest. I had to take special care that I did not count the same cars twice. Lots of Fords in this one. 1934 Ford (model unknown) 1934 Ford DeLuxe Fordor 1932 Ford B-400 Convertible Sedan 1933 Ford Standard 5W Coupe 1934 Ford DeLuxe Fordor 1932 Ford DeLuxe (model unknown) 1932 Ford Roadster 1932 Ford Standard Tudor 1932 Ford Standard Fordor 1932 Ford DeLuxe Fordor 1933 Ford Standard 5W Coupe 1932 Ford Cabriolet 1933 Fordor Standard Tudor 1933 Ford DeLuxe Fordor 1933 Ford Fordor 1934 Ford DeLuxe Fordor TM Last edited by TonyM; 03-04-2012 at 11:27 AM. |

Re: V-8 Fords on Film
The Batman (1943) is a serialized film version of the comic book Batman. I thought it was hilarious that in Chapter XIV, Robin calls Batman by his real name Bruce while they are in costume. Batman can also be seen wearing a wedding ring while in costume in a couple scenes. Another interesting fact is that the first Batmobile was actually a 1939 Cadillac Series 75 Convertible Touring Sedan. Wow. Bruce Wayne uses the car and Batman and Robin use the car, but apparently no one can make the connection. Re: V-8 Fords on Film
There are a good number of old cars in this movie, but not many V-8 Fords; only two, and only briefly.

Not that bad of a movie, Indianapolis Speedway (1939) has only two V-8 Fords that I could identify.

Re: V-8 Fords on Film
I have only recently become aware of the "Boston Blackie" series of crime/mystery films by Columbia Pictures. In the last several weeks I have seen most of them. They are ridiculous with over the top inane story lines and plots. They are an insult to a viewer's intelligence--even mine. I don't recomend them--you'd be better off working on your V-8 Ford automobile. The one exception is After Midnight with Boston Blackie (1943). It's just "okay". Not great, but tolerable. There are four V-8 Fords and all appear very briefly.

Re: V-8 Fords on Film
It Happened in Hollywood (1937) is not bad. I don't think we have logged one of these yet:
1932 Ford DeLuxe Cabriolet This car is beautiful--it has double white walls and 1935 wires and is painted a light color. Nice. Sorry no photo. TonyM. |
