48 f1 226h head gasket
I am looking to replace a blown head gasket. What kind of bolt sealer has proven successful? I am going to chase all bolt holes first with a thread chaser,is this the proper procedure? Thanks

Train2
Do not use a tapping tool to chase the threads in the block!!! Take the correct size bolt and cut 2 or 3 length wise slits and use it to chase them. # 2 Permatex works good for studs or bolts. Most agree 55 pounds torque in three stages. Re torque as necessary. Bruce

Like Bruce says above but:
Head bolt torque spec for a 226H 6 cylinder is 65-70#s. |
