82 A 28/29 AA Truck cab question
When I bought this truck no body blocks were fitted . I fitted new blocks with the rubber pads tacked on . I was not sure if anything went under the front single bolt mounting so I fitted a rubber pad the same thickness as the others . This raises the front of the cab that the latches do not fit so I have removed them . At the front bolt the block is sandwiched between the steel channel so the connection will be " metal to metal" or is frame webbing involved ?

John, there should be a 1/16th thick woven Anti-Squeak pad under the front, and the pad was folded for the rear to a double thickness of 1/8th inch. Rubber was not used originally.

Re: 82 A 28/29 AA Truck cab question
Is this pad only used on CCPU and AA bodies? On my 28 coupe, there is the frame webbing and the splash apron on it only before the body is installed. The front body block encased in the metal on the top and bottom, just sits on the splash apron, i.e. no pad between them. Is this right? I can understand that means there is metal to metal, but the bolt that secures the cowl to the frame is very tight, so squeaking would seem to be a low probability.

The body pad shown (as extracted from Brent's photo) was used on the 1928—June-1930 82-A (as well as other 1928/1929 A bodies). The pad fit under the body (not attached to the front body block).
