Drive Your V8 Ford Day!
According to the V8 Ford Club of America today is Drive Your V8 Ford Day. I fully intend to do so. I hope that all of you can too!

Re: Drive Your V8 Ford Day!
Yeah. Drove my 40 to the gas station, would not start, Jumper wire from coil to battery, started right up. Ran crappy under load, made it home, put it in the garage, charging the battery, Will look at it later.
Any trip where you break down and make it back home is a good trip. |

Re: Drive Your V8 Ford Day!
I was a day early, drove mine yesterday even with the missing hub cap that fell off the day before! People just love seeing and hearing the Flathead, such a great looking motor. Rain today so she is all tucked in my shop. Enjoy the drive

Re: Drive Your V8 Ford Day!
I got most of the tree sap and pollen off the '51, so I have it out today, too.
I'll finish the cleanup tomorrow. |

Re: Drive Your V8 Ford Day!
This morning went to get a current state inspection sticker, no issues. Went home to take my wife for a nice ride and take a picture for "drive your Ford V8 day", everything was going fine until! Yes, had an issue with the Columbia Two Speed, it wouldn't shift or engage at all! Ended up coming home on a hook, guess who besides me isn't pleased? Now I'll have to figure out what the heck happened. You've got to love these old Fords.

Re: Drive Your V8 Ford Day!
I had my 50 out today and yesterday. First time in a while; coincidence- I didn't know about Ford Day. It really seems like a viable car, like I could go somewhere in it.

Re: Drive Your V8 Ford Day!
My wife and I had the 46 Coupe out today, to participate in our clubs cruise to one of our seniors homes. Because of COVID restrictions here in Canada, it was a drive by event. The residents clapped and cheered, showing their pleasure.

Re: Drive Your V8 Ford Day!
Uncertain weather had me on hold for my crop spraying operations (again) today so this evening I took the Merc out for some sunset pictures. If all the stars align and weather co-operates I just might possibly get to a car show tomorrow. First in two years.

Re: Drive Your V8 Ford Day!
Had my original 1949 Ford Custom Fordor at Back to the 50's weekend. First large group get together since 2019.
Enjoyed the day, the National Anthem and the T-6 trainer flyover, followed by a former Pan Am Clipper. They announced 10,630 registrations. Down from 2019 due to those that are still cautious and those from across the border in Canada that were unable to attend. Also saw a new trend in powering a reproduction 1932 Ford roadster. Someone has taken a Harley Davidson v-2 and installed it. It does have more horsepower than the original flathead. |
