take a poll
Hi I have finally put the correct master cylinder on. But I have another problem. The rubber hose that goes to the drum brakes are clogged from years of neglect. But the hard lines to this are in a bad spot. I have to take out the radiator and grill. But I can bend the hard lines just enough and place a bracket under the frame. Just for my sanity which would you all do? Take of the radiator and grill? Or put a small tab and run the union of hard line to a new rubber hose?
Thanks Jerry |

Re: take a poll
You could get a lot more info on this topic by using the forum on the H.A.M.B. aka Jalopy Journal. There are people here who could say yea or nay. The trouble though, is that we prefer our T's close to original. The fact that we prefer to run them the way Ford did, makes it difficult to advise you.
Sooo,,, to be on the side of safety remove the line in question figure out the cleanest safest way to route a hard line to the front member Then solidly secure a tee fitting. Run hard line to right side. No need to hide it. We can see the brakes. Secure the right hard line end. Source proper fitting flex hoses to finish the circuit. Oh yeah. The more you take apart, the more it becomes yours, Enjoy

Re: take a poll
Thanks a bones. I’m going to try and see if I can air chisel it out. It’s just a push in clip. I was looking at it from the other way. I know my car is not stock. I will look at again and try to do right by the car.

Re: take a poll
I thought about it a lot. Then I crawled under it with a large can of pb blaster and sprayed like a maniac. Then I looked at the clip and thought let’s knock it out. Long story short I got the clip off and the steel brake lines came off. So now I needed to get brake hoses. I got fluid at the back brakes so I hope new hoses will work.
