Default 43-49 Drum/Bearing Question? Help...

Hi all,

Question. I'm putting 43-49 ford juice brakes on my model A. The drum center caps screw on. The set up I bought does not have the usual spacer that goes between the last bearing and the spindle nut.

My question is should it? Seems like if it did, the center cap would not be able to screw on deep enough?

If these brakes do not use the ring I'm referring to, what holds the grease in??

Thanks all!

Do you mean the washer with the tang that is between the castle nut and the outer bearing ?

I think you need that washer that jimvette59 mentions. The washer has a smaller diameter than the ID of the capwhich allows the threaded portion on the dust cover cap to screw in without interference.

Yes, that is the washer I'm talking about. That would make total sense if it were a smaller circumference. Would a regular parts store have these?

Yes they should be available at your local parts house.
