Bert Hiller BW Overdrive
I have a Bert Hiller Borg Warner R10 Overdrive in my 41 Ford Pickup and am considering converting to a T5.
I purchased the truck a year ago. The OD works great but I want to go more modern. Is there a market out there for this? Thanks |

Re: Bert Hiller BW Overdrive
Here is some excerpts on what I have read about Bert Hiller and who now supports the Borg Warner Overdrive.
Bert Hiller: Probably the best were those built by Bert Hiller of Vancouver, Washington. Bert built several thousand of them. His product was excellent because he understood the need for proper alignment. Bill Swigart: Bert Hiller sold his business several years ago to Bill Swigart of Redding, CA (530-221-1628). Bill does support the existing Bert Hiller overdrives in service and will build and sell a Borg Warner overdrive if ordered. I hope this is helpful. |

Re: Bert Hiller BW Overdrive
Is your transmission a top shift or a side shift type? I've only seen the side shift types that were made by Borg Warner for Lincolns, Mercs, & Fords.

This is the type that is incorporated into the torque tube. Sorry I didn't mention that. I'll be adding pictures.

Re: Bert Hiller BW Overdrive
I don't recognize Bert Hiller, and I didn't know the history prior to Bill Swigart, however my take on the Swigart conversion is that it is well respected. At one point in time, even Hot Rod Works showed a Swigart conversion in their ads. I would think it would be a sought-after piece.
And, I can be considered a possible candidate, if you should decide to sell. |

Re: Bert Hiller BW Overdrive
If it works I would leave it alone.
It's an unusual accessory. |
