Shipping a Ford/Heyer test set
I am looking at buying a 1938 Ford Laboratory Test Set in Wisconsin and need advise on an economical way to get it transported from there to Paramount CA for shipping on to me here in New Zealand. I am in no urgent hurry just can't justify spending a lot of $ on transport, or if anybody has, or knows of a test set for sale closer to CA that might be a better option for me cost wise.

Re: Shipping a Ford/Heyer test set
I’d check with Fastenal. Strap it to a pallet.

Re: Shipping a Ford/Heyer test set
Thanks Ken,
I checked their website but it tells me that they don't ship between east and west zones https://www.fastenal.com/fast/blue-lane-freight

Re: Shipping a Ford/Heyer test set
All I can tell you is get some one to build a box for it then strap that to the pallet.

Re: Shipping a Ford/Heyer test set
I already have a shipping agent in place with whom I regularly ship items that can't be posted. I will NOT EVER use Kiwishipping again. Thanks,

I have wanted that "same" machine, was even offered it at a lower than advertised price. Even here in the states, the distance I am from it AND the "potential" issues and cost of shipping it motor freight has kept me from buying it and Unfortunately I don't foresee myself heading anywhere near where it is anytime in the near OR distant future |

Re: Shipping a Ford/Heyer test set
My daughter lives in Madison Wisconsin and I did two trips from Tucson recently. (Ram 2500 with a SnugTop) Had another coming up in June but that is on hold because of a pending surgery. Might not be until Sept?
