Generator driven tach?
Is anyone running a generator driven tach? I didn't know if the Model A had 3rd parties making them.
I have seen other cars of the era with the attachment at the end of the generator to run a cable. |

Get a generator from a MGTD.

Re: Generator driven tach?
I used a tinytach from Design Technology, Inc. They make a special one just for a model a
The sensitivity is too high on their std. model This tach is a TT-1C-RXL It is also a hour meter...... both digital readout simple hookup and needs no holes drilled...I ran the sensor cable through the firewall electrical box . |

Re: Generator driven tach?
Seems plausible the tach drive assembly from a Ford tractor could be mounted to the rear plate of a Model A generator.
Alternator versions are available too.

That looks good. Now, how accurate would it be?

Re: Generator driven tach?
Generator belt slip makes tach readings unreliable. This was OK on my '61 Vette as when the tach quit working I knew my fan belt had come off. A common occurrence on high HP Vettes.
