Default Does this noise sound familiar to anyone?

My '31 has been making an odd noise when the engine is running, and I'm not entirely sure where it's coming from. My next step is to remove the fan belt and start turning things by hand to see what they feel/sound like. But I figured I'd post a sample here first, to see if it sounds familiar to anyone.

It's sort of a mid-pitch whistling sound, that doesn't ever change pitch regardless of engine speed. It mostly occurs when the engine is idling, and a little bump of the throttle makes it go away. I have however had a few times where even at a high idle speed, the same noise shows up.

Anyway, here's a short youtube clip of the noise. I'd advice turning your volume down before you click, since it's mega annoying.

Thanks!

I had a 53 Ford pickup that sounded similar.
It turned out to be a small vacuum leak.

I would go with vacuum. Good news is there are only a few places in an A for a vacuum leak. I would first check torque/tightness of the manifold and carb. Thats easy. Then try it without the fan belt.

I have heard a similar sound when "someone" failed to install the Venturi after working on the carburetor.

Another time I installed carb in darkness and the mounting bolt on the rear did not go through the hole in gasket because the gasket had turned toward engine so there was large vacuum leak.

Yep, take off the fan belt and start her up, that would be my first check, move on from there,

Half a cup of brake fluid, in the radiator, will stop a water pump seal squeak.
Old Chrysler trick.
