Default 35 temp guage

Have an original temp guage in my 35 and it works but the fluid won't return to normal, any tips as to how to get it all the way down. I hung it up with the sending unit down, and it returned but not all the wayand then when I put it in the dash it rose to have way and stayed there. THANKS

If it is original and sealed from the Ford factory it sounds like there is still air in the conduit or sensor. You might try hanging it with the gauge on the bottom attempting to get all of the air in one big bubble. Then swap ends and see if that works. Take a screwdriver handle and gently tap the sensor while it is on the bottom to break any air bubbles loose.

An original gauge in working order is worth trying different things to make it correct.

After mounting you can try a couple of cycles of heating (with hot water) and cooling with ice.
