Anybody have a pic of these installed? My '40 does not have them.

Zax 40: Keep in mind you also need to use carraige bolt fasteners on radiator.

and

Probably cheaper to go buy carriage bolts at hardware store.

The radiator end utilizes carriage bolts, lock washers and hex nuts. The head of the carriage bolt slips into a slot in the brace side(s).
Originally these were 5/16 fine thread, S2 (raven black) finish.
The inner fender end goes beneath the "wishbone" brace. There should be a piece of anti-squeak material placed between the inner fender and the brace. Duct cloth, available at the local fabric store is perfect for this.

As you would expect, Kube explains it exactly!

There are places that sell all manner and thread of carriage bolts, I found some 10/24 x 3/4 ones for my brand X plastic car cowl vent. Mr. Google is your friend.

1940 was the first year for that "wishbone" brace. Prior to that there were two separate braces, each was fastened between the inner fender panel and the front cross member.
Also, the bolt that holds the brace to the inner panel is a hex head bolt, not a carriage bolt.

Thanks everyone! I wonder how many decades my '40 was on the road with those missing. I'm betting since the last radiator replacement...

Someone was depending on the upper hoses and lower mount bolts to keep it in place. Make sure your radiator has the slots on the sides for the carriage bolts.
