Default Cabriolet Window Runs

On page 10-4 of the Judging Standards there is a drawing of the window runs on the door hinge side of the Cabriolet door. The drawing seems to suggest that the brass run is lined with a lining material, however this is gone in the runs on my car.

Can anyone tell me which material should be used for the liner and where to get it ?

The door window channels on the 68-A and 68-B did not have a lining - just plated brass. The glass window frame slid in the channel and there was metal-to-metal contact. I would think a little lubrication would be necessary, but I have been unable to confirm if Ford used a lube or not.

So, if it did not have a lining, what is the inner material shown in a hatched pattern in the drawing, inside what is clearly drawn as an outer material layer ?

Are the Judging Standards in error ?

I see what you are saying about page 10-4, a little confusing. The JS does not indicate what material the cross hatching is supposed to be. My window channels do not look like they ever had anything covering or coating them. Not much wear was noted on them either. Maybe a graphite type, dry lube could be used??

Yes, the sketch in the Judging Standards is incorrect. This will be redrawn (or photographed) for the next revision. Also, a separate Cabriolet supplement is planned for the next revision.

I have a 68C and that was one of the only things organic that survived somewhat. Mine were covered with a felt like material so, that is what I covered them with. The earlier Cabriolets may have been different but may have been changed on the 68C to prevent wear or noise.
