Default A and jeep

Looks like a deuce-and-a-half approaching, too

Do all A’s lean that far when turning? The front right tire looks to be rubbing the fender

Could be wrong but it looks to me like later wheels and tires...

Left front and right rear look like A but right front does look like a later (smaller) wheel and tire. If so, that could explain the lean. I'm guessing pic is WW2 or later. If so, coupe would be 10+ years old - springs, shocks, etc might be worn.

Did WWII save the Model A? People were no longer buying cars with running boards. Most dealers wouldn't offer much on an A for trade in value so many were kept as a 2nd car - giving the wife a car to run errands. WWII hits and those newer cars get worse gas mileage they use tires at a faster rate etc. That old A turns out to be a good alternative to use rather than sending it to a scrap metal drive. When soldiers get home they need a car ASAP and buy someone's old A or if they had 2 cars they start hot rodding or restoring that A with new skills learned in the military.

My grandfather used to tell stories of he and his brothers buying Model As and then stripping them of as much metal as possible to sell during WWII while still being able to drive the chassis with drive train still intact. He said they used wooden barrels instead of radiators, stopping often to refill the barrels at streams.
This was before he enlisted at to go fight when he turned 18.
