Default WD-40 Storage Seperation Pictures

I mentioned this a few months ago, but the search said no hits for "WD-40". I don't know why that would be because WD-40 has been mentioned hundreds of times.

Anyway here are two pictures I just took of WD-40 I bought in a gallon can and stored for 6 months in spray bottles. You can see how much more has turned white in the bottle stored in my unheated attached garage. The other bottle has only 1/4" of white stuff and was stored 6 months in the house. I don't know what to make of this and don't know how well it will work, but it looks like I need to stop saving money and just buy it in the regular spray cans.

In a wet climate WD-40 absorbs water at a fast rate.

WD40 is a petrleum based product and does not play well with some plasticS. (polystyrene plastics and polycarbonate I empirically know it will attack)

My ewag is that your spray bottles are breaking down. I have had WD40 in metal and glass for longer periods with no change.

BTW, if you want a bit of an eye opener......read the caution label.

Petroleum products attack milk jugs after just a few week! Drain oil in jug and then an oil slick :-( no rust on that area of concrete floor :-)

The plastic, nozzle mechanism, may not be as humidity resistant as you think.
