Exterior vs interior colors
Was wondering if there's a table of interior colors vs exterior colors for Model As. Can't recall having seen one...
Second part of the question is whether the same interior color was always fitted with each exterior color or were there variations. TIA for any help and/or advice. |

Re: Exterior vs interior colors
Yes, the 'Judging Stds.' book has both tables that you are seeking however it does not have color chips. For paint, you will need to view the Paint & Refinish Guide offered by MAFCA. As for the second portion, the trim schemes were pretty much the same for every color scheme during a specific timeframe with just a few exception. This is also addressed in the 'Standards'.

Re: Exterior vs interior colors
Brent said it right but maybe I can add some clarity. Most models had only one interior trim scheme available and any given time. That means they may have had more than one in a given year but one superseded the other at a given time. That time would have a little overlap due to so many branches around the country.
It was not uncommon for Tudors to have two interior options during some periods. Deluxe closed models such as Town Sedans generally had 2-3 options at any given time. Never was the interior trim scheme associated with any specific exterior color. For example it was not uncommon for a brown toned Town Sedan to be built with a green mohair interior or a green toned Town Sedan to built with a brown mohair interior.

Re: Exterior vs interior colors
Marco,
That helps a lot. Thank you. Can you tell me what interior color a late (May 1930) Standard Tudor would most likely had had? |

Re: Exterior vs interior colors
Looking at the RS & JG it appears to me that it could also have blue hairline stripe cloth. I don't see a drop date for it which I would interpret that it was used throughout 1930. Marco may know if that's correct or not.
