Default Just to share (lots o picts)

Hello everyone! I inherited a '30 coup deluxe about three years ago. I knew nothing about cars when I did. And have been learning as much as possible along the way. Mostly when something breaks (which is quite often). The old girl sat around for a good 20 years moving from one garage to the next. Several family members would try to work on it, but could not get to far. They were going to sell it, when I stepped in and put a stop to that! Took it off their hands for the cost of towing it to my home in Dallas. Not to bad of a deal.

After joining the local Model A club:

I have converted to 12V. re-wired the entire vehicle twice now. Added turn signal. Temp gauge. Learned how to re-time. Re-built the brake system twice. (can lock em up now!) Changed all the fluids. Replaced every gasket and seal I could get to. (Proud to say it only drips from the cotter pin hole now). Replaced tires. Rebuilt carb. Welded up the holes in muffler. New core in radiator. Replaced pulley. ( I have taken off the radiator more times then I want to admit) Replaced broken head stud. Calibrated the steering. Hooked up speedo. Painted engine. Touched up body paint, and much much more.

Also had to build a new workbench and re arrange my garage about 20 times now to make room for new tools etc.

Just wanted to share... My wife is not to impressed :P

Gorgeous color schemes on your A's !

Just added a plastic filter to my Tudoor where yours is ---now I don't feel so bad about it , plus it's keeping the tiny garbage out of the carb

Thanks for the pix. Always good to see other guys' projects. I suggest you replace that copper gas line with a steel one.

That's an unusual starter setup. Can you tell me what's going on there?

And Tiny is right about that filter!

I installed a starter solenoid on the frame next to the alternator. And a push button under the dash rail in the cab. That starter rod would always jam up on me.

Looking into changing out the copper fuel line. I guess the fuel will wear away at the copper?

The two other cars in the garage belong to other members in the club. A gentlemen named Merle in our Dallas club has a fantastic garage. And, helps everyone in the club with their cars. He has taught me a lot!

I could not agree more with the suggestion to get rid of that filter. If you put it on someone gave you bad advice. Wayne

Mitch, was reading your info. Does that pencil filter hold the debris or does it just keep debris in tank. Also my pickup runs good, I am using ugly clear plastic filter. when i go up hill it feels like it should have more power. could it be the filter restricting gas flow. thanks Joe
