Re: Worse Hobbies Than Antique Cars
Yeah, cause given some on the X's of my friends, they'd be put into that big ass balloon with a pack of cigarettes and a lighter Did I just say that??? Actually the truth of the matter is that some of my 'friends' should have been the first ones on board.

Re: Worse Hobbies Than Antique Cars
Hobbies are a funny thing, though, One man's trash is another man's treasure.
That guy with the zeppelin probably loved his model zeppelins more than any antique car. It was just a funny picture especially because he was right out in front of his home and garage the place where we usually see an antique car. |

Re: Worse Hobbies Than Antique Cars
Collecting things is a fairly normal hobby, i collect cars, really should sell some.
Some people have really terrible hobbies, i saw some on the internet, pretty weird ones out there. Just be glad that cars is a good one.

Re: Worse Hobbies Than Antique Cars
I bought a 51 f1 project with the intent to restore it and give it to my wife as a gift. Found out she was having an affair with my friend. She divorced me and ended up marrying him. I let her have my business, my house, everything EXCEPT my truck. That was a big fight but she eventually gave up.
I am now doing a frame off restoration of the truck with my son. That truck has helped me keep my sanity in what was a pretty tough time. I love this hobby. |

Re: Worse Hobbies Than Antique Cars
Excellent! LOL. I somehow lost track of this thread. It just keeps getting better. The B-17 is so over the top too. My wife of 25 years pulled the same crap with the guy on the next property, but Wa is a 'no fault divorce state', so didn't matter who or what she was doing.. She got half, I bought house back, raised the 4 kids, who wanted nothing to do with her. I got to keep my 38 tonner and my landcruiser truck. After 15 years I married a gem. Nurse, first responder, good welder and she brings me back a six pack when she goes into town without me having to ask.

Re: Worse Hobbies Than Antique Cars
I had a maytag gas powered washing machine for a while. 2 cycle horizontal single cylinder. Kick starter just like a harley. Exhaust was a long flex pipe you would run outdoors. 10-1 mix so the air was blue. Model T style pipe thread spark plug. There are a lot of maytag collectors across the country. I still have a maytag single cyl engine and a later model opposed twin. Real smooth. I don't think they made a gas powered dryer, but it does give me an idea for next summer's engine meet at Lynden.
