Question 1939 Ford Pickup wiring

Is the 1939 Pickup wiring different than the 1939 car? I have the wiring diagram for the car, but haven't found one specific for a Pickup. I wondered if they are different? Thanks.

From what I've seen of the '39 car diagrams online and the harness in my '39 pickup they seem very similar. If there's something in particular you're looking for I'd be happy to pass along some pics of what mine looks like for comparison.

Clem Clement, Is the diagram color coded? and could you forward a copy to me. I'm right at that stage now.

If you have some pictures I would love to see them. I have a 38 ford pickup that I am trying to wire. I have the diagram but in some places it is not easy to figure out.

I am looking for placement for the resistor, fuse block, regulator and the wiring for those items and the connection to the generator.

I sent you guys what I have. See if it is what you need. Rewiring a truck is fun and easy. I hung my ristor about where it should be. Someone had put insolution material so I couldn't get it exactly right.

You wont find a location for the regulator on a pickup or Standard as they used a cut out and delux Fords used a regulator. Probably a few more other minor differences that will make life more challenging .

In reality, in mid 1939 Ford began to switch over to regulators on all of their vehicles not otherwise equipped. That of course included the standard line of passenger vehicles as well as commercial and trucks.

Vehicles built prior to this mid-year change were often updated at a dealership. This was a simple modification requiring little more than the installation of a regulator, a new generator and a short "adaptive" wire harness.

Interesting to hear about the transition, helps to explain why my 39 pickup has extra holes with screws in firewall where regulator would be mounted. Came from factory with generator cutout and amp gauge in dash.

I will dig out my diagrams soonest. I spent the morning resting and the pm flogging my '40 Merc. we are finally getting to install Julianos' seat belts. Seams they don't mind the big washers pinching the webbing.

I found that the repaint is not good near the seatbelt plates. Can I use a spray to stop rust from forming behind the plates.

For 38/39 trucks you'll be closest going with a 37 harness to be mostest closest. Cutout as mentioned.

Clem if you could post the diagram here that would be swell.

Guys. Please accept my opology for the lateness. My world is a mess with activities and challenging health. Plus I’m stupid about the computer.

Finally found the diagrams.
Scanning did not work for me.
I don’t know how to post on Fordbarn.

I sent a ZIP drive to the two guys who gave me email addresses. These are photos. If acceptable, hopefully they will please post for me.
If not I will work harder on scanning them. I have earlier scans somewhere.

The photo of the truck accessories is to show that the wonderful sliding rear window was an option in 1937. I love it in this heat.
V/r,
clem
